It Was Always You

He stood there not knowing if she would even arrive. But she did. Half the battle was won there and then, according to him.

As she stood facing him, he could feel his heart pounding, so loudly and evidently that he thought he was having a panic attack. Every single time that he saw her, his heart had missed a beat. But this time, it was different. He so wished if its pounding would stop. What if she also heard it?

“So… what did you decide?” he asked, not able to confine his curiosity.

“It was always you,” she began.

After that whatever she said seemed to blur because he had got his answer.

“It was always you,” she ended.

That was enough.
