Rock Bottom

Lower and lower
As we sink,
Heavier and heavier,
As we feel,
We know it’s rock bottom
That we’ll hit.

The force of gravity
Is not to blame.
The force of fate
Pulls all the strings.
We know it’s rock bottom
That we’ll hit.

We try to fight
To no avail.
We try to fly
To fall again.
We know it’s rock bottom
That we’ll hit.

We imagine all along
How bad it will sound.
We cry all along
For the pain yet to come.
We know it’s rock bottom
That we’ll hit.

Yet, a silver lining shines
In this darkest hour.
Yet, a sigh of relief arises
In this dreadful time.
Having hit rock bottom,
We know we’ll only go up.
