Of course, he loved her!
He loved her like crazy!!
But why, he really had no idea.
He thought about it sometimes.
Starting from their start
To where they stood now.
He tried to list reasons
Of how she was rather special.
But come on, she was ordinary.
He tried to keep count
Of the wonderful things she did for him.
But all she did was get on his nerves.
He tried to understand
How they had made it so long.
But he really had no idea.
So he asked her
Why she loved him.
She questioned back, “Do I?”
“Yes, in your weird way, you do!” he shot back.
That’s when it hit him.
That’s when he realized.
He knew she loved him.
She knew he loved her.
Sometimes, that is enough.
Exactly why did that happen,
He still has no idea.
Nor does she.

interesting piece Mia, I am glad my life is not like this but I see a lot of married couples that this piece does seem to describe unfortunately. I love the way you ended this piece, “Exactly why did that happen, He still has no idea nor does she.” Hope you have a great weekend and sending love to you and yours, Joni

Also, do you mind if I ask you how did you get sooo lucky? I mean, on one hand, there are people like you who seem to have it all in terms of a relationship. On the other hand, there are people like me who have been dreaming of something like that for so long but still have to wait…

Of course I donāt mind dear Mia. I think a lot of it is we were friends at work first. We enjoyed a lot of the same things too. He made me laugh until I would cry all my eye makeup off. If I give the impression that our marriage has always been perfect it hasnāt. We had to work on our communication skills and finding a balance between work and home life which was not easy either. The biggest thing quite honestly is that we both have faith and we really do take care of each other. My husband has always been one who cooks, helps clean and still loves yard work. So it is a combination of respecting each other, supporting each other and sharing our faith, reading and studying the Bible together, etc. I donāt think any relationship is perfect or easy. Just when I pretty much decided to throw in the towel for ever hoping to find true love and was getting use to the idea – there he was. I truly believe God brought him into my life. So MIA my guess is that when you least expect to meet someone you will. I will say a prayer that God will send you a wonderfully loving man and A man who loves God.
Take good care Mia and it will happen for you too. Love, hugs and prayers coming your way my friend. šā¤ļøšš¤š love Joni

Firstly, thanks a ton for taking out your precious time to write back to me in so much detail. I really appreciate it, Joni. š
Your life’s story seems blessed indeed. May God keep you and yours together always, no matter what storm life stirs up.
As for me, if it is about throwing in the towel, I think I have already done that a while ago. According to that logic, the time shouldn’t be too long. š
Anyway, thank you for making me feel cared for by your words & prayer. š¤

Sometimes, Mia, when the heart and mind work together, it’s a miracle of coordination.
At other times, though, one has now idea what the other is doing. Yet, when the combination still works, as in today’s poem, is it not equally miraculous?
We make our way through the world, largely by our own industry, yet the occasional miracle still gives things an unexpected sparkle.
