Perfect

If I were perfect,
I would know
Exactly what to say.
But I bumble for words.

If I were perfect,
I would do
Everything just right.
But I make many mistakes.

If I were perfect,
I would treat
Everyone just as they deserve.
But I muddle up all systems.

If I perfect,
I would succeed
At all I venture into.
But I fail so often.

If I were perfect,
I would smile
At all costs.
But I cry like a baby.

If I were perfect,
Only if I were.
But I’m only human
And believe me, I’m fine.

I am not perfect.
You are not perfect.
But it would be perfect
If we are still perfectly fine with each other.

    1. Thank you for stopping by to comment, Elena. πŸ™‚

Well, I don’t think it ever existed! πŸ˜… What existed is always people ideas in their head of what everything should be like.

  1. This is so nice with such a beautiful message. No one’s perfect despite how hard we can try. πŸ˜‰ If we were perfect, would we be human?

Lovely poem. The imagery is amazing and again, the message is powerful.

But I’m not sure in which time zone do You live so probably “greetings from Poland” would be more appropriate πŸ˜›

  2. I love the message in your poem Mia. It is extremely well put. No one is perfect but wouldn’t it be such a blessing if we could just be more accepting, less critical and more loving. Great post. I β€œLove” the message and your delivery. Have a blessed day my friend. Love to you and all your loved ones. Joni
