The arguments are unavoidable
Every time you don’t listen.
But more important than my anger
Is what we have.
The irritation is inescapable
Every time I speak the same thing.
But more important than your anger
Is what we have.
The tension in the air is inevitable
Every time there’s a disagreement.
But more important than our anger
Is what we have.
Friction is unpreventable
Every time we both stand our grounds.
But more important than our anger
Is what we have.
Problems are ineludible
Every way we go through life.
But more than our anger
Is what we have, what we have together.
Great perspective 👍

This got me thinking of the song ‘Scared to be Lonely’ by Dua Lipa

Thanks for stopping by.
According to me, that song was more about letting go than holding on to an already dead relationship. Meanwhile, my poem is about people in a relationship, not necessarily romantic, overcoming their anger over mundane matters. For the big picture always wins! ☺❤

We ought to focus on what we have. And what we share. Only this matters (as long as we are happy obviously!)

Very well said! Only this matters! Only love matters!! That too only of the sort that brings us happiness. ☺☺
