On the beach,
As we run freely,
Or walk with worry,
It doesn’t really matter.
For all we leave are
Footsteps in the sand.
We may look at the water
With relief washing over us,
Or fear of the unknown.
It doesn’t really matter.
For all we leave are
Footsteps in the sand.
We can let the waves talk to us,
Showing us the way,
Or complain about the lack of silence.
It doesn’t really matter.
For all we leave are
Footsteps in the sand.
We can call this beach
Our own little world,
Or understand that it’s also of others.
It doesn’t really matter.
For all we leave are
Footsteps in the sand.
One day, I’ll be gone
From our little beach.
When you stand without me,
Looking for me won’t really matter.
Maybe, looking in your heart,
You will find my footsteps there.
I love this poem, Mia.
Maybe, looking in your heart,
You will find my footsteps there.

Another splendid message, Mia, delivered in your typically appealing style.
We all leave a legacy for others, even when we fear we walk “alone,” and that the waves quickly will wash away any trace we were here.
Not so fast! Truth is, as you observe, we all leave footprints. Indeed, they’re what those who come after us will follow.
Without the path we pioneer, who knows what future beachcombers will get up to? Most likely, half would walk right into the surf, or would trudge around in circles, were it not for our example!

Thank you so much, Keith for understanding my message all so well! 🙂
Yes, we leave a legacy for others to follow as well as just some memories in some cases. These memories may be worth more than anything else in the world for our loved ones. 🙂
