Do you also
Once in a while
Have trouble sleeping?
The sort when when you just lie,
Toss and turn
But still stay wide awake?
Do you also
Look at the time
And know for a fact
That you must be sleeping
But you are not,
But you can’t?
Do you also
Feel uneasy,
Feel upset,
Feel like your head might want to
But your heart won’t let you sleep,
Won’t let it go?
Do you also
Have a dream,
Have a yearning,
That won’t let you rest,
That keeps you going,
That keeps you awake?
All. The. Time. ❤️

Don’t worry, we will make it through and be able to sleep like a baby again. Surely.

Yes, Seraja. Scouting hard for the positive part, all I can say is that we have something we deeply care about which makes us do that once in a while. And that dear, is a good thing. 🙂

Absolutely… but isn’t that normal?

Yes fellow poet, there is nothing wrong with it.
In my case, it only happens when deep inside, I’m pretty anxious about something.

🙂 Mostly motivating energy in my case, so I understand well.

Oh, the kind when you are doing something you love so much that you really want to finish it before going to sleep! I know that as well! 😇 That’s the best. Although, once you hit the sack, you immediately fall asleep, in a highly satisfied manner. 🙂

Yes! Always had problems getting only 4 hours sleep or less. Now turn on red lights at night, do acupressure and breathing exercises; and chuck down s warm brew like warm milk with honey, turmeric and a dark chocolate truffle.
Mow I average 5+ hours a nigh

Oh okay. I’m glad that you are making progress. Thank you so much for sharing.
Also, may I make a suggestion from my little pool of experience?

In addition to all those things, also try doing something you really love before going to bed. I think it should help. Always does for me. 🙂

Ah yes, Mia, The Thinker’s Lament. The brain usually cooperates when we turn down the volume, but not always. Some nights, the dial is stuck on “10.”
Oh, but for simplicity. No thoughts. Just sit there, mouth agape, waiting for a flying volleyball to hit you in the head. No, no! We think, and thus, occasional insomnia is our cover charge.
Of course, you know how it goes. Sleep evaporates. The seconds drag, each one taking hours to traverse. Then, suddenly, as soon as we get to the office, absolute, visceral fatigue! Where were you an hour ago, Sleep? Always the way, isn’t it?

Hmm, happens… That’s why I find WordPress a good outlet and it’s more than amazing when we all get on a common plane.
Also, thank you so, so very much for the compliment. 🙂

yes I also
sometimes struggle to sleep
for my mind is deep in thought
so my body fails to find the path
that leads it straight to rest
so that I can be at my best
the next dawn,

I have a hard time sleeping but then again, who wouldn’t while watching the soul you speant your whole life looking for and found….only to be taken away inch by inch, hour by hour, day by day and be powerless to do anything about it.
Sleep? What is it?

Dear ‘The Inner Circle,’ firstly thank you for commenting. Yes, life can be pretty tricky and at times, downright unfair. Yet, we tread on. Whatever we can help, we do. What we can’t, after a limit, we have to let go. Also, our happiness lies in our hands. Others might help us find it. But don’t let them have that complete power to yield it for you.
Trust me, you will be fine. You just have to believe it. 😇🤗

I just numbed my insomnia with an endless binge of YouTube. But occasionally when I have a good sound sleep the next day automatically becomes so good.
