He knew there was something about her the moment he lay his eyes on her. It was as if everything just fell in place whenever she was around. He could safely count on her.
Yet one day, she was not enough for him. The very things he loved about her, he searched for in another woman. Everyone had told her what they once had would not last forever. Yet she hoped in vain.
But when the other women broke his heart, she was there to put the pieces back together. She always maintained that it was not him that she was doing a favour but herself. She was always there for him.
That is when he realized that she was his best bet. She was his mother.
But by now she had understood that she was not enough. More than him, it was she who wished that he find someone he could bet on, other than her. Just like his father had found her.
