Wish Me, Silly

Half an hour spent
To search the perfect photo.
Then a message sent
To make her feel special.

The clock ticked away
Minutes to hours.
If only she may
Reply in the least.

There I sat waiting
By the phone.
Trying to stop hating
All the effort put through.

When patience gave way,
Not knowing how to hold on,
I knew I had to say
What I had been avoiding all along.

“Why don’t you wish me back?”
I asked bluntly.
This woke her up the sack
And she replied almost immediately.

“Because I am yet to find
Something worth your while.”
Always knew she was kind
But silly me needed a reminder.
